Cultural activities
The Scuola Normale Superiore proposes to the town, the students, the researchers and the professors a programme made of cultural activities that span over the diverse areas of knowledge, arts and sciences. Among these we mention a series of public lectures based on the respect of the dialogic structure that is a distinctive feature of the Scuola.
In these occasions relevant personalities of the intellectual, scientific, economic, political and literary world are available for an open confrontation on current topics with the students and the professors of the Normale as well as with the city of Pisa.
The concert season of the Scuola Normale, that started on 1967, from October to June hosts the international music talents between tradition and modernity.
In collaboration with the “Centro di Ricerca Matematica” entitled to Ennio De Giorgi, the Scuola organizes the cycle of lectures “Matematica, Cultura e Società” that deals with the mathematics, its relations with other disciplines and its applications to social and natural sciences.
Last but not least we remind the series of seminars of the two academic Faculties that are held by prominent personalities in the worlds of university, research and culture and that are devoted not only to the people of the Normale but to scholars and experts of the various topics too.
