The Places
The Scuola Normale was started in 1810 by a Napoleonic degree as a branch of the École Normale of Paris. It has its main premises in the historic building called
Palazzo della Carovana , in one of the most important squares of Pisa from historic, artistic and urban points of view.
During its two hundred years long story the Normale acquired through acquisitions and donations, some historic buildings in the town of Pisa that at the present are the seats of its offices, its research laboratories and of the students' colleges.
