Aristotle, Metaphysics Λ
Prerequisiti
The course is primarily aimed at doctoral students, but it can be profitably attended also by students of the ordinary course. A good basic command of ancient Greek is desirable, though not strictly indispensable.
Programma
This course is a continuation of the lectures on book Λ of the Metaphysics aimed at all students. It will consist of a series of seminar papers delivered by PhD students and devoted to the examination of individual passages or themes from the dialogue, or its relation with other ancient works, or its reception.
Obiettivi formativi
The course will propose a detailed examination, in seminar form, of fundamental philosophical texts and issues from classical antiquity, considered from various points of view: historical genesis and fortune, conceptual substance, philological issues.
