Programme

The focus will be on the construction of a monarchy by the Visconti and how this process, at once political-institutional and cultural, was variously endorsed by court intellectuals. In particular, we will focus on Emanuele Crisolora's stay at the Visconti court, between Milan and Pavia, the rediscovery of Platonic texts, the translation of the "Republic" attributed to Uberto Decembrio and the reading of some politically significant passages.

Educational aims

To deepen the historiographic reflection and to refine the critical reading of sources
