The course will focus on a close reading of Ruzante's "Parlamento"; the analysis of this masterpiece will shed light not only on Ruzante's theatrical itinerary, but also on the deep meaning of dialectal literature during italian Renaissance.


Educational goals: The course aims to provide a critical presentation for a number of philological, linguistical and literary problems posed by Ruzante's "Parlamento". The hope is to stimulate students philological sensitivity and encourage discussion.
