Optional for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students of the PhD Programme in "Transnational Governance"

Optional for the 4th and 5th year students of the MA Programme in "Political and Social Sciences"



The course provides students with tailored, specific advice on the research design of ongoing dissertation projects. The course also provides students with specific guidance on aspects related to the academic profession, including how to prepare an academic CV, how to select international conferences, and how to publish in international journals. 

Course format

The course will be organized in (a) collective meetings to discuss ongoing PhD projects; (b) seminars on professional issues; and (c) one-to-one mentoring

Educational Goals

The course provides students with practical advice to pursue a career in academia. Major aims of the course are to increase students' awareness of the requirements to excel in the current academic job market and to provide solid background to the development of thesis projects
