1. Electrostatics and magnetostatics

2. Mathematical methods for electrostatics

3. Maxwell’s equations

4. Electromagnetic waves

5. Simple radiating systems

6. Introduction to special relativity

7. Covariant formulation of electrodynamics

 

Educational goals:

Become familiar with the basic concepts of classical electrodynamics in a vacuum, including the properties of electromagnetic waves, and special relativity. Learn how to use Maxwell's equations and some mathematical methods for their solution.
