General Information about the SNS

Academic Year

The academic year at the SNS officially starts on the 18th October. Classes and seminars usually begin in October and last through June, with a Christmas and an Easter break (an average of 3 weeks and 1 week, respectively).

The first semester goes from October to February and the second semester from March to June.

ECTS Credits

The SNS, given its peculiarity, does not adopt a credit system to define the weight of its own courses and seminars, which can only be expressed in work hours.

At the end of the mobility period, the SNS Internationalisation Office will issue a Transcript of Records, featuring all activities carried out at the SNS (in work hours) and any eventual exam given with relative grade. Each Sending Institution will thus be able to recognize them, according to its own evaluation system.
