Melanie Ann Rockenhaus
Esperto Linguistico
After a bachelor’s degree in English and American Literature with a thesis on the shorter poems of T.S. Eliot (University of Dallas, 1981), I completed a master’s degree in American Literature with a thesis on Toni Morrison (Emory University, 1985) and a second master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages with a thesis on the Recall and Use of Lexical phrases (Sheffield Hallam University, 2011). I have also completed several post-graduate diplomas, including Translations for the Humanities (Institute of Linguists, London, 1999) and Distance Education (Province of Pisa, 2003).
I have presented and chaired numerous workshops, published in my field, translated in several key areas and attended many professional courses ranging from teacher training to applied linguistics. Further information can be found in the attachment “Presentations, Publications, Translations”.
My interests include anything involved with the English language: how it is taught and learnt, training colleagues, writing, translating, poetry, novels and related topics.
