Associate professor of Solid State Physics at Scuola Normale Superiore since 2001. After his studies at Scuola Normale Superiore he earned his PhD in Physics at Purdue University (Usa). He has been Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow at the Max-Planck-Institut für Festkörperforschung in Stuttgart. He has been assistant professor in the School of Science of Scuola Normale Superiore and associate professor at the University of Salerno.
His research interests are in condensed matter theory, and particularly the electronic and optical properties of organic and inorganic semiconductors and their heterostructures, and in the theory of light-matter interaction and nonlinear optics.
