Palazzo della Carovana – which today hosts the director’s office of the Scuola, the classrooms, the lecturers’studies, the Faculty secretaries’ offices and the Normale library periodicals section – has been the main site of the Scuola Normale since 1847.

Palazzo dell'Orologio

The Palazzo dell'Orologio now contains the Library of the Scuola Normale Superiore. Its current aspect is the result of transformations which took place one after another from the Middle Ages up to the 20th century.

Palazzo della Canonica

Palazzo della Canonica has a complementary role to Palazzo della Carovana since the compositional outlines of the two façades are analogous. Many scholars attribute the original design to Giorgio Vasari. It houses part of the library of the Scuola Normale.
