You too at the Normale

The Normale is promoting an initiative for university orientation for high school students: Alla Normale anche tu. It consists of a series of afternoon meetings in some of the main Italian cities.

The initiative is aimed in particular at students of the last three years of high school and their teachers; no specific school grade average is required in order to take part. The meetings will involve an illustration of how the Scuola Normale functions, the faculties into which it is subdivided and the study subjects it encompasses, the characteristics of its study curriculum, the collegiate life on which it is founded and the completely free study experience that it offers. Mention will also be made of the admission competition, with an explanation of how it works, how to prepare for it and what it aims to bring out in the students that go in for it.

The meetings will be given by lecturers and personnel of the Normale, but first and foremost by its students, who will be recounting their experience. The meetings are divided into two parts: the first part will be a presentation of the Normale for the entire audience, whereas in the second part the students will divide into smaller work groups, enabling closer interaction.

Access to the meetings is free; interested students and teachers can book them using the enrolment form at this page. Students not accompanied by their teachers may, if they wish, be accompanied by their parents, who can book a place using the same form. Students not able to attend the venues in person because all available spaces are booked, and those residing in the relative provinces or regions who are not able to reach the venues in person, may participate online.

Students attending the meeting will be awarded a certificate of participation which, at the discretion of their school of appurtenance, may be recognised as qualifying for PCTO purposes (Transversal skills and orientation).
