The Orientation and Placement Service sees to the planning and management of the initiatives and relations with high schools and regarding job placements for work orientation, the management of the alumni and alumnae network, internships and part time collaborations for students. The functions formally assigned to the Orientation and Placement Office will continue to be carried out by the Cultural Events Service — through the personnel belonging to the latter — until a subsequent decree by the Secretary General is issued, which will also define the position of responsibility and the permanent staff allocation.
Main activities
- Co-ordination and planning of initiatives aimed at high schools: university orientation courses, orientation fairs, training and refresher courses for teachers, various projects, also in collaboration with other authorities and institutions.
- Co-ordination and planning of initiatives (dedicated courses, participation in orientation fairs etc.) intended to introduce the SNS's undergraduate and PhD teaching curriculum.
- Planning and carrying out of initiatives regarding job placement for work orientation, including in non-academic contexts and with the possible involvement of alumni and alumnae.
- Management of relations with the institutions and firms in relation to student job placement.
- Management of the alumnae and alumni network: planning of initiatives in collaboration with the Associazione Normalisti, both for outgoing orientation and for the forming of collaborations and partnerships, including for fundraising. Planning, creation, management and co-ordination of the community portal.
- Career counselling, career advisory services and outgoing orientation for undergraduate and PhD students, also in collaboration with other authorities and institutions.
- Management of curricular incoming and outgoing internships and outgoing extracurricular ones, overseeing the legislation of reference, management of pertinent agreements, and activation of educational projects.
- Co-ordination and management of student part-time collaborations conforming to prevailing legislation, correlated to incoming orientation activities.
