Admission to the individual courses for students from other universities

Undergraduates, PhD students and graduates from Italian and non-Italian universities not enrolled in the courses of the Scuola Normale can submit applications for admission to attend one or more courses included in the SNS curriculum for the academic year 2025/2026.

Admission procedure

1. Completion of the online form

You must use exclusively the Forms dedicated to each faculty:

• Faculty of Humanities – Curriculum and access: dedicated form
• Faculty of Sciences – Curriculum and access: dedicated form
• Faculty of Political and Social Sciences: send an e-mail from your SNS e-mail address to didattica.firenze@sns.it indicating the title of the course included in the offerta didattica (curriculum) to which you wish to apply.

You can also access the form via SPID (recommended mode); the form enables the application for only one course at a time. Should you be interested in more than one course you will need to use the form separately for each course to which you wish to apply.

You should always use the e-mail address of your university of appurtenance.

2. Authorisation

The application will be assessed by the lecturer giving the course.

Only upon receiving the authorisation for admission via e-mail will you be able to proceed with the subsequent steps.

3. Registration on ESSE3SNS

On receipt of the authorisation, proceed with registration via the portal: https://sns.esse3.cineca.it/Root.do In the case of authorisation for several courses the registration does not need to be repeated.

At the first access, use the menu at top right to register, then log in with the new credentials.

If you have already completed the registration on the web site, use your own credentials or recover them via "Password dimenticata" (Password forgotten).

On registration, send a confirmation e-mail to: studenti.esterni@sns.it

Final certification

When you have completed the course and passed the final examination, you will be able to download the following from the portal:

the certificate of attendance

the attestation of the outcome of the examination and the university course credits acquired

The certificate attesting to the passing of the examination and of attendance must be submitted or handed in to the students' office of appurtenance by the student.
