Programma

The course aims to provide a cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary approach to the main themes and methodological issues related to gender, gender studies, and intersectionality. It includes a general introduction that presents the course and reading materials (Stefania Pastore, 2 hours); a first theoretical-methodological section led by Raffaella Sarti from the University of Urbino (6 hours), followed by two thematic in-depth sessions, each lasting 6 hours. The first session, conducted by Elsa Dorlin from the University of Toulouse, will focus on feminist movements and philosophies of the African-American and Caribbean diasporas in the 20th century. The second session, led by Adeline Grand-Clément from Université de Toulouse, will explore key issues related to the presence of women in the ancient Greek world, particularly concerning citizenship, religious practices, and spaces for female agency. Additionally, participants may combine this course with various 20-hour courses offered by the School or integrate it with the second module of the early modern history course, which will examine forced female ego-documents from the early modern period.

Obiettivi formativi

An interdisciplinary approach to the main themes and methodological issues raised by gender, gender studies, and intersectional studies

Riferimenti bibliografici

The bibliography field has a word limit and does not permit the inclusion of a comprehensive bibliography for the course. The professor will provide this during the course presentation on October 29, 2025. At that time, we will select at least three readings for each session
