Scientific interests
Fabio Beltram and his group carry out research activities on a wide range of topics in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology, the results of which have appeared in around four hundred publications in international reviews and European and international patents. He has always dealt with the physics and applications the nanostructures of semiconductors and of the hybrid superconductor-
semiconductor; however, in recent years he has been increasingly engaged in research activities in molecular biophysics in order to apply the innovative approach of nanoscience to significant issues of biomedical interest.
Among the topics currently studied: coherent transport in semiconductor nanostructures with emphasis on multibody effects, logic gates for quantum computation, single-photon sources for quantum cryptography, THz laser sources, ballistic transport in nanostructures, including hybrid nanostructures. The main research lines in molecular biophysics are directed towards innovation in medicine through the design and application of drug delivery vectors and high-sensitivity diagnosis.
