Support services

The service carries out all the administrative and accounting activities in support of the Library Centre of the Scuola Normale Superiore, the acquisitions service, the management of the interlibrary services, and the management of information systems and of the devices specifically dedicated to the library services.

Main activities

  • Management of the administrative and accounting activities in support of the Library Centre of the Normale.
  • Activities connected to the management of the financial resources and the arrangement and management of the budget.
  • Management of CRUI contracts and purchase orders under 40,000.00 euro.
  • Management of requests for the acquisition of bibliographical material, on any support and in accordance with various modes (acquisition, exchange of publications, donations, individual orders, standing orders), and with the consequent orders, in Alma and on editors' platforms, collaboration with the arrangement of authorising expense documents, relations with suppliers and users.
  • Management of invoices issued by suppliers and of debit notes issued by the CRUI.
  • Reporting of documents relating to expenses (such as short-route expenses, IFLA vouchers utilised for interlibrary services, expense payments made with credit card for the regularisation of outstanding bank payments).
  • Management of the arrival of volumes, inventorying and creation of holdings/copies.
  • Management of requests for interlibrary services (interlibrary borrowing and provision of copies of documents) coming from users from the SNS and from other libraries, and payments for the same.
  • Analysis and identification of solutions for adopting the information systems and technological and computer infrastructures required for the activities of the Library and  their personalisation, management and maintenance.
  • Configuration, maintenance and updating of the management software programmes of the Library for the requirements of the various services.
  • Management and solving of computer problems of the Library (hardware and software), assistance to users.
  • Management of relations with the suppliers of equipment and computer systems.
  • Collaboration with the other structures of the Scuola Normale that deal with IT for the requirements of the Library.
