Advanced Topics in Spectroscopy
Programma
The course of Advanced Topics in Spectroscopy will allow the students to have a deeper insight into the spectroscopic concepts, as well as to acquire knowledge on advanced spectroscopic techniques from both the theoretical and experimental point of view. A general overview of the macroscopic approach in terms of Polarization (linear and non-linear) and its further development via density matrix will allow to introduce the concept of decay processes and how they can be measured. Classical and more advanced techniques (Raman, Fluorescence, time-resolved absorption and emission Spectroscopy, multi dimensional spectroscopy) will be examined in order to identify the pieces of information relevant to a specific technique.
.
Obiettivi formativi
Students will gain a more profound and comprehensive understanding of the general concepts of linear and non-linear spectroscopy and of the individual techniques treated within the course.
