Prerequisiti

The first module is intended for undergraduate students and is open to PhD students. The second module is intended for undergraduate and PhD students. Knowledge of Latin and ancient Greek is required.Knowledge of Latin and ancient Greek is required.

Programma

The course will explore political communication in Rome during key periods of internal tension, when power struggles demanded greater efforts in spreading messages. A range of sources and media will be considered, including literary texts, inscriptions, coins, monuments, and public works. Three supplementary modules will be dedicated to specific categories of documents.

Obiettivi formativi

The course aims to support the acquisition and consolidation of the methodological skills necessary for analyzing the sources discussed during the lessons and for understanding the historical issues under examination
