Political mobilization as ‘performance’

Political mobilization as ‘performance’
In investigating the relationship between art and politics, using the categories of political and social sciences, in particular social movement studies, several crucial questions emerge. What does it mean to perform within a representative process of social groups? What performative forms are manifested in conflicts and what are their consequences, both internal and external to the performance itself? What role do emotions play in this context? Furthermore, which research methodologies can help us answer these questions? We intend to involve experts who are exploring these issues from an interdisciplinary perspective. The proposed workshop is a further step towards the creation of a knowledge and research network in this field.
