Syllabus
The ethics of the care of the self developed by Michel Foucault and Pierre Hadot has given significant room to the question of the discourses of truth and, more specifically, the discourses of truth the subject is led to give on himself. Starting from the context outlined by Foucault and Hadot, the course will focus on some recent examples of reflection on confession, parrhesia, and practices of writing on the self, which suggest some theoretical paths for understanding some aspects of our present.
