The service sees to the management, protection and enhancement of the collections, the management and maintenance of the catalogue, the management of the electronic resources of the Library and collaboration in the catalogue of the research products of the Scuola Normale.
Main activities
- Management, protection and enhancement of the disciplinary and specialist collections.
- Harmonisation of the development of the collections, management of acquisition proposals and deselection of obsolete volumes.
- Shelf management, replenishment, inventory checks and reorganisation of the material, arrangement and updating of signage, etc.
- Relations with users and specialist reference linked to the sector.
- Management and maintenance of the catalogue, cataloguing of new additions (acquisitions, occasional gifts, exchanges), cataloguing and /or supervision thereof (if entrusted to external companies) of the collections.
- Management and activation of the electronic resources in Alma, collaboration in the management of contracts and in the arrangement of authorising expense documents, verification of accessibility, validation of affiliation for open access publication in the context of transformative agreements.
- Collaboration in the management and configuration of IRIS.
- Management of the digital library.
