Programma

Environmental politics has evolved over time according to how environmental issues have developed and have been understood, and according to the broader societal and political evolution. It has been approached from various disciplinary viewpoints, including sociology, anthropology, geography, STS, political philosophy, feminist and decolonial studies, critical political economy and international relations studies. The course aims to address issues that have gained relevance in recent years in response to multiple crises and transformations, in the context of which the ecological question plays a contested and ambivalent role. Long-running debates are taking new directions and new or renewed concepts and perspectives are emerging, some of which will be analysed through the discussion of cutting-edge contributions. The course will be organized in meetings, where the teacher and the students will discuss selected topics, building on the assigned readings.
