No previous knowledge of logic is required.
Programma
Module 1
The notion of proof from a logical perspective: natural deduction and operational meaning of connectives.
Module 2
Introduction to proof theory: Gentzen systems and their properties. The problem of the consistency of arithmetic.

Module 1:
Introducing the students to logic through the notion of proof.
Module 2:
Introducing the students to proof theory and its philosophical consequences with a specific focus on the work of Gentzen.
