Francesco Senarega studied Classics at the University of Pisa (BA 2020; MA 2022) and at the Scuola Normale Superiore (2017-2022), as an undergraduate student of the Corso Ordinario in the Faculty of Humanities. He is currently a PhD student in Classics at the Scuola (2023-…).
His PhD project aims at providing the first comprehensive study of the intertextual relations between Lucretius’ De rerum natura and the tragedies of Seneca, and also a thorough assessment of its impact on other poetic texts of the late Julio-Claudian period. Besides Lucretius, which is the main focus of his research, he is also interested in other Latin poets such as Virgil, Ovid, Lucan, and Cicero.
