Syllabus
This course offers an interdisciplinary exploration of the ways in which the gendered body is constructed and the political meanings historically attributed to it, using the theoretical tools of gender studies and contemporary political philosophy. Taking a genealogical and critical perspective, the course will analyse the ways in which the body is produced, defined and governed at the intersection of biological, discursive and social dimensions, examining the relationship between practices of subjectivation, gender norms and mechanisms of power.
