Syllabus

Goal of the course is to address themes and approaches that developed in social theory to account for late modern society, understood as the social order emerging as a result of the systems crisis that took place between the late 1960s and the early 1970s. Among the topics that will be addressed: post-modernism; artificial intelligence; post-politics; the risk society; new materialisms; science and governance.

The course will be organized in meetings, each one dedicated to a specific topic, building also on discussions of assigned readings.
