Storia Contemporanea (Ordinario)
Prerequisiti
The course requires a basic knowledge of international history in the second half of the Twentieth century
Programma
The course will treat the radical changes of international politics in the last two decades of the past century. It will analyze crucial phenomena such as the end of the Cold War, the Soviet collapse and the globalization of Liberal Capitalism, mainly by focusing on their mutual influences. Specific attention will be devoted to the relations between political choices and long-term processes, to the exhaustion of secular ideologies, and to the topic of human rights as a new universalism. Lectures will be integrated by discussion on readings from the bibliography.

Students are expected to achieve knowledge of the international transformations in the last two decades of the past century and a capacity to approach the main historiographical references
