Programma

2°: The French monarchy and the dynastic ‘crisis’ (Ordinary and PhD students)

The course will focus on the gradual consolidation of the French monarchy during the ‘crisis’ of the Capetian dynasty and the so-called Hundred Years’ War (1337-1453).

3°: The Papal Monarchy and the Schism (PhD students)

Almost at the same time, during the years of the schism (1378–1417), the papal monarchy first became a diarchy and then a triarchy. This course aims to focus on certain stages of the conciliar debates concerning the ‘crisis’ of the papal monarchy.

Obiettivi formativi

The aims of the course are to introduce students to historiographic reflection and refine a critical approach to sources.
