Reading Butler in Florence

Two seminars

Contatti

The two seminars will engage with selected chapters from Judith Butler's book Who's Afraid of Gender? (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2024) through collective reading and discussion. At a time of growing anti-gender mobilizations and gender backlash across different political and social contexts, Butler's work offers critical tools for understanding the narratives, anxieties, and power dynamics that shape contemporary debates around gender.

By reading together, we aim to develop analytical resources for navigating the complexities of the present, fostering informed dialogue on the challenges posed by current attacks on gender studies, feminist politics, and LGBTQ+ rights.

You must register by writing to the group email genderandpolitics@sns.it

25 seats is the maximum capacity of the room. The seminar will also be held online.

Previous seminar: 22th September.
