Abstract: I will discuss AdS_9 x I solutions in type IIB and massive type IIA supergravities. In the IIB case these solutions have finite Euclidean action and I'll briefly discuss holographic observables, as well as their Euclidean wormhole interpretation. In the mIIA case the slicing is non-compact and the Euclidean action diverges due to the presence of O8 plane singularities.I'll conclude with the study of their brane origin. The IIB case is again better understood and there exists a non-supersymmetric 7-brane background reproducing the right AdS_9 near-horizon limit. In the mIIA case, I'll try to hint at a possible interpretation in terms of intersections of an O8 plane with Euclidean momentum waves.
