
Adele Moltedo

Transnational Governance
Adele Moltedo is a Ph.D. candidate of the Transnational Governance programme, class of Social and Political Sciences (XXXIX cycle). Her research focuses on the relationship between gender, sexuality and borders, and she investigates the experiences of women and trans* illegalised migrants as they attempt to cross internal European borders. The aim of the research is to understand the gendered and sexed characteristics of the European border regime. She is interested in border studies, gender and queer studies, migrations, geography and qualitative methodologies.
Prior to joining the SNS, Adele has obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Amsterdam in Political Science, with a minor in Middle Eastern Studies (SWANA area) (2020), a Master’s degree in International Security Studies from the University of Trento and the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies (2022) and a II-degree Master in Political Science from the Sant’Anna School (2023). She also collaborates on a project on academic freedom led by professor Ester Gallo (University of Trento) and is an editor on the academic blog Security Praxis.
