Desirè Gaudioso
PhD student
Political Science and Sociology
Desirè is a PhD candidate in Political Science and Sociology whose research places intersectionality at the center, exploring how it shapes collective action, political identities, and struggles for social justice. Her PhD focuses on migrant women’s experiences of intersecting forms of violence and their strategies of resistance, examined at the intersection of migration studies, feminist theories, social movement studies, and critical perspectives in dialogue with decolonial studies.
Before her PhD, she worked with NGOs and research centers on migration, gender issues, and grassroots processes of social and economic regeneration in urban and rural areas. Her comparative qualitative research contributes to debates on migration, gender, intersectional inequalities, and social change.
