Syllabus

This course analyses different aspects of political violence, state repression and social movements. Buiilding upon a relational and processual approach to social movement studies, it looks at the macro-contextual level, the meso-organisational level, and the micro-individual level in analysing of riots, underground political organizations, civil wars and revolutions. Particular attention is paid to the role of the states in the transformation in the repertoire of action.
