Human resources

The scientific coordinator of the project is Franco Flandoli.

The scientific committee, chaired by Flandoli, is composed of the faculty members of the Scuola Normale: Michele Benzi, Andrea Malchiodi, Vittorio Giovannetti, Michael Joseph Morello, Andrei Albert Mesinger, Chiara Cappelli, Julien Bloino, Antonino Cattaneo, and Francesco Raimondi.
The project includes the strengthening of staff through the opening of new positions: one full professor, two fixed-term researchers, one scientific–technical officer, and several research contracts.

Since 2024, two research contracts have been activated in the fields of Numerical Analysis and Condensed Matter Physics.

Starting from 2023, six research grants have also been funded in various areas:
•    Development of quantum and hybrid quantum/classical models for the simulation of electronic and vibrational properties of molecules in complex environments;
•    Rational design of proteins as theranostics;
•    Computational design of proteins for the development of theranostics;
•    Development and application of theoretical models for the prediction of optical spectra;
•    Optimal compression and machine learning of the 21cm cosmic signal;
•    High-throughput data processing with a distributed FPGA system for the LHCb experiment.

In 2024, a permanent contract was established for technical–administrative staff, within the Functionaries Area, scientific–technological professional sector, for the San Silvestro Management Structure of the Scuola Normale.
