Allievo del Corso di Perfezionamento/PhD
Political Science and Sociology
Alessia Pensabene earned her bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences from the Università di Verona and her master's degree in Public and Corporate Communication from the Università di Bologna. She is currently a PhD candidate in the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences, where she focuses on studying the emerging phenomenon of feminist influencers/activists on digital media.
Her research project analyzes the individual political engagement of these influencers and their impact on society, activism, and feminism, using a comparative approach between Spain and Italy. By conducting an in-depth investigation into the relationship between digital activism and personal identity, her study aims to provide a clear perspective on contemporary feminist movements and the evolution of activism in today's digital context.
In her publications and research, Alessia explores not only current feminist movements but also the dynamics of activism more broadly. Her work seeks to investigate the possibilities and limitations of digital platforms, analyzing the mechanisms of connection between audiences and organized movements, as well as the relationship between feminism and the capitalist system. In doing so, she contributes to a deeper understanding of the intersections between activism, identity, and social structure.
