A physicist, Radicati di Brozolo had been deputy director under Gilberto Bernardini, whose policies, started and consolidated under the directorship of Vesentini, he continued.
In 1990 the Palazzo del Castelletto (formerly the Nistri Lischi printing works) was purchased, and currently houses most of the administrative offices of the Scuola Normale.
