Incoming students

  • Erasmus+/SEMP Exchanges and International Exchanges

Students who wish to come and study at the Scuola Normale within the Erasmus/SEMP programme, or other exchange programmes governed by bilateral agreements between the SNS and a partner institution, must apply from their home university.

Erasmus code of the Normale: I PISA02
PIC code:                                  999886962
OID:                                          E10209036.

Once selected and nominated by their institution, they will be able to register with the Scuola Normale using the appropriate form and choosing a tutor among the teachers of their Faculty of destination.

During their stay, students have free access to lectures, seminars, the canteen in Pisa, the library and the other facilities of the Scuola Normale.

Deadlines for application:
30th June
, for the entire academic year (from October to July) or for the first semester (October-January)
15th November, for the second semester (February-July)

  • Visiting Students

Students can also carry out study periods at the Scuola Normale outside of Erasmus or other exchange programs, for a maximum duration of one academic year at their own expenses.

This type of request does not have fixed deadlines for application, but given that it involves a rather long process, it is advisable for those interested to apply at least two months in advance.
Before submitting their request, students have to choose and contact a tutor, among the teaching staff of the Scuola Normale, willing to accept their application.

During their stay, students have free access to lectures, seminars, the canteen in Pisa, the library and the other facilities of the Scuola Normale.

  • Erasmus+ Traineeships

Students from international institutions can also carry out an Erasmus+ traineeship at the Scuola Normale or in one of its laboratories.

The first step is to choose and contact a tutor, within the teaching staff of the SNS, who will accept their request. The intern’s home institution must then be available to sign an Erasmus+ traineeship agreement with the Scuola Normale, and a related risk declaration required by Italian legislation on safety at work.

Since the process is quite long and complex, it is recommended, also in this case, to apply well in advance.
