Direct promotional materials

Direct promotional materials

The Scuola Normale Superiore produces informative and direct promotional materials regarding its teaching, research and Third Mission initiatives. Flyers, posters, brochures, leaflets and pamphlets are planned and created by the graphics section of the Communications Office, at the request of the Director, the organisers of the initiatives (research personnel or students) and the various structures (services, centres and laboratories).

All promotional materials:

  • contain the logo of the Scuola Normale Superiore;
  • are consistent with the visual identity of the Scuola Normale Superiore;
  • are planned and created by the Communications Office, or – if entrusted to agencies or external freelance professionals – must be approved by the Communications Office.

The Communications Office has the task of overseeing the image and brand of the Scuola Normale Superiore, partly through the following actions:

  • the ensuring of a correct and appropriate use of the logo of the Scuola Normale Superiore;
    the guaranteeing of the quality of the contents and the clarity, correctness and inclusiveness of the verbal and visual language;
    the promotion of a continuous improvement in and updating of the co-ordinated Image.
  • the guaranteeing of the consistency of the materials with the visual identity of the Scuola Normale Superiore;

The Communications Office can modify or reject the presentation of any contents, verbal or visual, that it considers to be inappropriate to the institutional aims of the Scuola Normale Superiore, to contain information not sufficiently clear or simple, or to be inconsistent with the image of the Scuola Normale Superiore.

Also for the production of direct promotional materials it is forbidden to use images that are not the property of the Scuola Normale Superiore, not under Creative Commons licence, or for which the publication rights have not been granted.

Requests for the processing of promotional materials should be submitted to the Communication Office via the appropriate online form by the organisers of the event to be promoted, and by the structure managers or their representatives. The form should include the final text, or texts, which must be included in the materials in their various contexts (for example, the poster for a conference or the leaflet of the related programme).

The request may include a suggestion for the visual to be used, providing a high-definition image (300 DPI for printed materials,150 DPI for web materials), royalty free or with a waiver of use (in the latter case the waiver of use must be attached); if the image proposed is royalty free, the stock of provenance and the name of the author of the product must be included.
