Portuali

Portuali is a vivid portrait of the political struggle led by the C.A.L.P., the Collettivo Autonomo Lavoratori Portuali (Autonomous Collective of Port Workers) of Genova, between 2019 and 2023. The film follows their strikes against the so-called “ship of arms” and their efforts to build a trade union capable of addressing the challenges of our time. It tells a story of workers fighting for safety in the workplace, standing against militarism, and reaching out to other dockworkers across the Mediterranean. At its heart lies a dream – the dream of shaping a different, fairer world – and the personal and collective cost of pursuing it.
