Abstract

Over the past few years various techniques developed in the context of Quantum Field Theory have found a direct application to the study of the (classical) gravitational waves emitted by binary systems of black holes or neutron stars. I will review some of these developments discussing how scattering amplitudes, loop integration techniques and even N=2 supersymmetric gauge theories can be useful to calculate different observables relevant for the relativistic two body problem.
