Gregor Christopher Meinecke

Gregor Christopher Meinecke is pursuing a PhD in Art History at the Scuola Normale Superiore and the University of Hamburg, under the supervision of Francesco Caglioti and Frank Fehrenbach.
His research focuses on the sacred art of the Quattrocento in northern Italy, with particular attention to the depiction of bearers of script.
By methodologically examining their legibility, he explores the dynamics between painting and script within humanistic discourses. The title of his thesis is Holy Script and its Bearers in the Image of the Italian Renaissance.
