NQSTI - National Quantum Science and Technology Institute
Description
This proposal aims to create the Istituto Nazionale di Scienza e Tecnologia Quantistica (the National Quantum Science and Technology Institute) (NQSTI), a consortium that will group together Italian institutions carrying out competitive and innovative research in the field of quantum science and technology (QST) and that will stimulate future industrial innovation in this field, providing a forum by means of which innovative ideas and opportunities will be transferred to the companies. In order to guarantee a positive and long-term effect on Italy's economic growth and development, the entire chain of innovation has been taken into consideration: from the strengthening and co-ordination of low-level technology research to its translation into prototypes, favouring dialogue with industrial demands through intense outreach programmes and lifelong training.
A part of the project is dedicated to the creation and incubation of spin-offs and start-ups capable of placing the research results higher in the TRL ranking, with sizeable resources and particular focus on Italy's southern regions.
The NEST laboratory of the SNS will also benefit from the participation in the same project of the CNR-NANO@NEST and of IIT-CNI@NEST.

Description
"Digital libraries, archives and philology": textual research, together with synchronic and diachronic studies on linguistic contact and multilingualism, are privileged sectors of ICT application. The process of digital transition of research subjects and methods appears to answer to the demands and specific practices of various sectors such as ancient and modern textual criticism, palaeography, critical genetics, bibliography, the history of books, papyrology, sociolinguistics, historical linguistics and dialectology. The results – in terms of corpora and digital editions, descriptive metadata and logical representations of their semantic relationships – are creating ever increasing knowledge and knowledge networks.
